Custom Test Machines

The Keweenaw Research Center can design a machine for almost any type of testing. Starting with a computer model, the virtual machine is designed and tested. Next, using the full machine shop at KRC, the machine is built and ready for use. This process is well tested and a working test machine can be created from a paper sketch in a very short time. Test machines can be built for a number of different purposes including failure testing and real-world simulation. Below left is an example of a wear machine for metal samples. Below center is an example of a bushing testing machine, and below right is a machine that replicates the forces of a tracked vehicle's drivetrain.
