Sprocket / Track Solid Model The Keweenaw Research Center uses high performance Silicon Graphics workstations and Parametric Technologies' Pro/ENGINEER to produce solid models. The solid modeling capability of KRC is the basis for much of its computer based engineering work. These models are used for finite element analysis, dynamic systems analysis, kinematic testing, rapid prototyping and for the development of new parts and assemblies from which level III drawings are created for production. The model above was created for checking tolerancing and clearance fitting of the components within the actual assembly. KRC has a reputation for producing accurate, complex models in a limited amount of time. The rapid creation and flexibility of design allows KRC engineers to work efficiently and effectively on solid models of any size and complexity.
